HOW TO AVOID, RECOGNISE AND REPORT SCAM EMAIL..
This unrecognized activity is called phishing. Phishing is a special kind of social engine attack where people use means to steal data base from people by requesting for social account details and credit card number.
Several hackers have discovered new styles to get information from people / phishing. Some come with similar site you are familiar with. Some may send you text messages that look like your bank email while some may use a family email, to text you a message requesting for your personal details.
However, identifying phishing Email can be very difficult and logical. That is why you need to pay attention to people’s experiences and ways to identity this email.

HOW TO IDENTITY SCAM /PISHING EMAILS
Phishing tricks are very tactical. If you want to identity their email, pay keen attention to your personal information. Some phishing email include producing the following information
USER NAMES & PASSWORDS
Some application or sites always want you to register with your email and password. Some will indicate you provide your email pass word. Be careful because many of those apps might be a phishing trap to get your details.

BANK NUMBER
Some phishing or unrecognized email may ask you for your bank details. These are easy way to know they are scam. Your bank will not request for your bank details so if you get a call or email stating or asking for your bank details, simply know that is scam.
PIN'S

CREDIT CARD DETAILS
On your credit card are some i6 digits and date of expiration and a 3 digit number. If any email or text sent to you request that you provide this details, simply avoid message. Do not respond.
MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME
This detail is one detail a scammer needs to get access to your details. If any email request for your mother’s name, then quickly ignore message as it may be an indirect way of getting your bank detail.
DATE OF BIRTH
Without your date of birth details, a scammer will not have access to your personal details. Debunk any message asking for your date of birth.
HOW TO AVOID PHISHING EMAIL/UNRECOGNISED EMAIL
  • Be careful anytime you receive an email demanding for your personal account details. Do not reply or send any details without confirming if it is real or not.
  • Don't click any link you are not sure of until it is proven real.
  • If the email sender had an email address, report the email Abuse to Google or yahoo.
HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM PHISHING EMAIL/ATTACKS.
There are steps to protect yourself from phishing attack some of the ways are:
1. Protect your computer/phone by using security software.
2. Use multi factor authentication
3. Update mobile phone software
4. Protect your data by backing it up.

HOW TO REPORT PHISHING
There are ways to report phishing emails and text message. Carefully provide all the necessary details you responded with to. Only provide true information to the anti-phishing links. There are other steps to take. And they are;

STEP 2: Text spam to 7726
STEP 3: Report the email/ text to FTCT
